I was in the process of switching over to my full legit version a month before i was emailed this. I have not made a single penny off solidworks if anything ive only given them money up to thia point. I literally have only used this for studying and just messing around with little personal projects. I was going to uninstall the older version and just use the subscription i got but i just havent gotten around to deleting and switching over.īut i just got an email today from solidworks about them wanting to take legal action upto 150,000 for each infringement. Had i known i would have just got the cheap 10 dollar subscription which is what i did end up signing up for in February as soon as i learned about it. I didnt know about the maker version until about a month ago. I had a student version before but im not enrolled this semester so i was just using this version to keep studying. A friend installed it on my computer so i could self study and pass the cswa and cswp. Im in the same pickle except i never intended to use the cracked version to make money. All because I was too lazy and cheap to do the right thing. I missed out on the VAR's promotional sale THAT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME $2k. I've sullied any possibility of contracting with them for overflow work. (Too easy to run what I had installed) I'm good with my VAR but I'm still a thief beneath the congenial rhetoric. It is all good now but I didn't follow thru on my initial commitment to run legal SW. Dessault staff were pleasant and happy to sell a seat of SW. Hat in hand I make the call to Dessault and purchase (VAR is aware of my indiscretions and can't/wont talk to me). ![]() I was gonna save the cash because I've already a "working copy" installed. Some time later I received an email C&D followed by hard copy both with evidence of my nefarious activity. Till then I was going to hone my skills on another cracked license. The project did hit. It was my intent to purchase SW should a design project I was chasing come thru. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I don't find SW intuitive so what do I do? Pirate a copy to self-teach till the work hits. Fast forward a few years I get asked to pick up some slack at a shop down the road. In 2014 I decided to take a SW class at the community college to learn something new and exercise the brain. I putz around with Autocad 14 when I need to knock out some work.
